Oscar Mario worked as a lawyer in firms such as Pinilla, González & Prieto, Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría and Monroy Torres Abogados, where he was in charge of matters related to urban, real estate and commercial law. Likewise, he worked as a lawyer for ProColombia's legal services department, guiding foreign investment in real estate and urban planning matters.

During his career at ProColombia, he published important manuals and guides related to areas of interest for rural, economic and social development (Zidres) as well as the Construction Manual in Colombia.

In 2019 he began his independent practice, founding the firm Lauda Legal specialized in Real Estate & Urban Law.
